Blackpool Cats

A multi skilled, experienced and qualified creative arts team offering courses, projects and one-to-one lessons in music technology, creative and performing arts. Current projects with Blackpool and the Fylde College and Blackpool Council. The next project is a summer school in Blackpool and the sessions will involve learning guitar/bass, singing and drama, keyboards and dancing. Blackpool Cats are currently receiving support from the InfoLab21 Graduate Academy.

New InfoLab21 DVD and Online Video Available

A 17 minute compilation of the InfoLab21 demonstrator films is available on DVD or to view online on our website. All our videos are now available to stream (view on the webpage) or download to your computer.

InfoLab21 Spin-Out Company Signs Global Games Deal

InfoLab21 spin-out company m-ventions has signed a deal to distribute 20 mobile phone games developed at InfoLab21 to a worldwide market of millions.

InfoLab21 Sponsors This Year's Big Chip Awards

InfoLab21 are sponsoring the 2007 Big Chip Awards, the biggest new media awards show outside London, which will be held in Manchester on 24th May. Other sponsors include Microsoft, the BBC, The Northwest Regional Development Agency and Yahoo.

£266,000 Grant To Boost Business Innovation

A £266,000 project has been awarded to staff at InfoLab21 and Lancaster University Management School to investigate how to promote innovation in the UK economy.

BBC Newsnight Presenter Kirsty Wark Praises InfoLab21

Lancaster University's InfoLab21 was one of the key regional developments singled out for praise at the launch of the new Northwest science strategy. Kirsty Wark, who hosted the event, said InfoLab21 was one of the examples of improvements in science infrastructure in the region since the launch of the first strategy in 2002.

Applications Invited For Collaborative Research Opportunities

These awards enable companies to take the lead in defining and setting up research projects with a Research Organisation of their choice.  Projects must be in engineering or physical sciences and jointly supervised by the academic and industrial partners.

Lancaster Centre for e-Science at the Lancaster University Management School has published the results of a large scale survey of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) on their adoption of ICT and e-collaborative environments.
