Welcome to our 50th issue of InfoTextX. The newsletter began in 2005 and the number of subscribers has steadily grown to over 1000. As part of ISIS, InfoLab21 are providing the opportunity for 20 eligible companies to take part in The Accelerator Programme. This will be an opportunity for companies to think strategically about ICT to transform their business and develop a new business plan to include relevant ICT adoption and best practice. Please register your interest as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Lancaster University has made a huge economic contribution to the North West economy, helping to create over 700 new jobs in the region according to latest figures.
If you thought mobile gaming was all about down time then think again, InfoLab21 researchers have created one of the world's first mobile phone games to be driven by brain power.
Both past and present work by InfoLab21 researchers has been awarded prizes at Middleware '09 at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois.
With year 1 of the innovation voucher scheme now completed, Kinetic Cubed are looking forward to developing even more relationships with new innovative companies in the North West. In the forthcoming year, the InfoLab21 resident company will be continuing their role as a framework supplier in the North West Development Agency Innovation Voucher Scheme.
Professor Jon Whittle has been invited to serve on the selection panel for the British Computer Society’s Distinguished Dissertations Award. The panel consists of ten computer scientists from the accross UK.
The Big Chip awards 2010 are now open for entries from digital businesses, and will stay open until 1st March. Students are also invited to submit their best digital work for the Little Chip Student Award.
