Graduate Project Assistant 2007-2008

Andy left the IGA in June 2008. On completing his internship he commented;

"During my time at the KBC, I have had great experiences with everything from the various projects, to the people I have met and worked with. Development of custom web applications and network reviews have been the most enjoyable aspects as these have given me the chance to try something new and also to maintain my skills in this area.

"From my time at the KBC, I have had the chance to work on many different types of projects and I feel most suited to working in either computer administration or a design and recommendation role, and as such, will be pursuing these job roles in the future."

Personal Information:
During my time in both education and work-based environments, I have gained many key skills including those related to social, communication, organizational and numerical abilities along with both IT and computer based knowledge. I have gained knowledge of many of Microsoft’s core software platforms, OpenOffice, CAD and 3D design packages, along with C, C++, Java and Flash programming languages. My employment history has brought me into direct contact with many server-side and network applications including Active Directory and Group Policy, and more recently, applications like PHP and MySQL development work.

During my free time, I like to pursue a range of activities. These activities range from rock climbing, canoeing and cycling all the way to reading and the use and programming of computers. I enjoy tabletop role-playing games as well as their computer equivalent, with special regard to software beta testing. When reading, I enjoy either computer magazines or fantasy and science-fiction novels.

Ambition:
Would like to work in more design orientated roles, preferably in the games and media entertainment sector.
